Dreaming Big and Overcoming Challenges
Neelam Choudhary's story is both inspiring and heartwarming. Hailing from the Kotkasim village in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, Neelam's determination and academic prowess have been her guiding light. Despite her family's modest monthly income, Neelam secured a place in BSc Chemistry Honors at Sri Venkateswara College in New Delhi, thanks to her exceptional performance in the CUCET exams.

Through the Streeksha Scholarship, Neelam was able to attend her college of choice, a dream that would have otherwise been limited to a local college or distance learning, significantly restricting her potential and ability to grow. Neelam understood the several disadvantages and limitations associated with a lack of resources and was determined to set her sights on bigger cities with better opportunities.
Neelam’s aspirations extend far beyond her current achievements. With support from Streeksha, she envisions pursuing further academic pursuits at India’s top engineering programs, particularly aiming for the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) campuses after completing her studies at Delhi University. Streeksha not only provided financial assistance but also offered the support she needed to truly achieve her dreams.

Belonging to the OBC category did not deter Neelam from dreaming big and pursuing her goals. She overcame societal and economic hurdles daily as she worked towards the future she wanted. Neelam aspires to follow in the footsteps of her elder cousin-sister, who is striving to crack India's rigorous medical entrance exam.

In her leisure moments, Neelam enjoys the mental challenge of solving Sudoku puzzles, continuously keeping her mind sharp. Reflecting on her journey, Neelam’s story underscores the transformative impact of the Streeksha Scholarship. It provided her with the financial support and encouragement necessary to pursue her ambitions, despite the challenges she faced. Her success is a testament to her resilience and determination, showcasing how targeted support can unlock the potential of talented individuals.
