Introduction

Happy and Joyful Learning in Schools

Through our multi-state school transformation initiative Happy and Joyful learnings in school, we reimagine government schools as spaces where children can thrive academically and emotionally. The program integrates infrastructure upgrades, interactive digital classrooms, curriculum-aligned visual content, and enriched libraries to make daily learning more engaging and joyful. We also introduce age-appropriate social-emotional learning modules that help students build self-awareness, empathy, and healthy relationships.

Teachers receive ongoing training and mentorship, enabling them to create emotionally responsive and inclusive classrooms. The program is currently active in Delhi, Uttarakhand, Assam, Haryana, and Tamil Nadu, and is implemented in close partnership with state education departments and school communities.

At Development Consortium, we view education as a right—not a privilege. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), our education programs are built on the belief that every child deserves access to safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environments that support their full development—intellectually, emotionally, and socially.

We work with government and low-resource schools, families, and communities to remove barriers to learning and strengthen education systems from the inside out. Our interventions span foundational literacy, digital access, social-emotional learning (SEL), teacher training, and higher education support. We prioritize inclusion, equity, and well-being to ensure no child is left behind—whether inside the classroom or beyond it.

Supporting Higher Education For Young Women

We believe that adolescent girls must not only complete their schooling but also be supported to pursue their higher education goals. Through our higher education for women program, we offer financial scholarships, mentorship, and life skills training to help young women from low-income communities continue their education with confidence. The program enables girls to overcome barriers such as early marriage, household responsibilities, and financial stress—allowing them to focus on learning, building careers, and shaping their own futures. Streeksha is more than a scholarship program—it is a platform for personal growth, resilience, and aspiration.
